Are these device tests free?
Yes. Every diagnostic on DeviceCheck is free to use and requires no account or software installation.
Does DeviceCheck record my camera or microphone?
No. Camera video and microphone input are processed by your browser for the live test and are not uploaded by DeviceCheck.
Why does the browser ask for permission?
Browsers require your explicit approval before a site can access a camera or microphone. Keyboard, mouse and display tests do not need those media permissions.
Can a browser fully diagnose hardware?
No. Browser tests are excellent for confirming input, output and visible settings, but some measurements are estimates. Every test describes its limits.
